She was the daughter of the later Emit and Emma Forney. She married the late Joe Latimer in 1919, to this union were born thirteen children, five sons: Joe B, Ozell, Myles, Emmitt and Emanuel; two daughters: Evie McClain and Sylvia Glasgow Carter; one brother: Ben Forney, three sisters: Evie Lunday, Sylvia Mosley an Charity Gilbert. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a dedicated Christian and an ordained Missionary. She was very active in the church and for many years served as the State Mother of the Church of Christ Written In Heaven until moving to Chester. In Chester she served under the leadership of the late Bishop Cornelius F. Range, of Ranges Temple Church of God In Christ. She was a member of Mother's Board until the early 1970's at which time she moved to Miami, Florida. In Miami she fellow-shipped at the Church of Christ Written In Heaven under the leadership of the late Elder Henry Byar. She also fellow shipped Genesis New Life Apostolic Faith Church of Savannah, Georgia under the leadership of her son, Bishop Myles A. Latimer. She died after a brief illness.
