Mrs. Margaret Ann Milholland, a resident of Holyoke and this community 35 years, passed away Monday morning at the Phillips County Hospital where she had been a patient six days. She was 88 years of age.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Holyoke First Church of Christ, with Rev. Donald Hurley officiating. Interment was in Holyoke Memorial Park. Arrangements were in charge of the Lewis Funeral Home.
As Margaret Ann Demott, daughter of John and Mary E. Demott, Mrs. Milholland was born August 21, 1866, at Martinsville, Missouri. She grew to womanhood in that community. She was a member of the Christian church there.
On March 27, 1887, she was united in marriage to Albert G. Milholland. To this union three daughters and two sons were born, four of whom survive. The family moved to Phillips County in 1919 and established the home on a farm near Holyoke. Mr. and Mrs. Milholland moved to Holyoke in 1926 and Mr. Milholland was employed at the Burge Hotel for several years before his retirement.
Surviving Mrs. Milholland are two sons, L.F. Milholland, Minturn, Colorado, and W.H. Milholland of Holyoke; two daughters, Mrs. O.N. Young, Martinsville, Missouri, and Mrs. Walter Wheatley, Holyoke; 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and a number of other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away December 22, 1953, at the age of 93, and one daughter, Edith, who died in 1918.
