Jesse Garland was born near Windsor, Mo., Dec. 13, 1863, and died in Windsor, Mo., Jan 10, 1921, and was therefore 57 years and 27 days old. He was married to Miss Ardelia Taylor Oct. 10, 1894, and to this union four children were born, all of whom are living, and were present at the funeral. The children are: Mrs. Opal Lila Shoe, Earl Taylor Garland, Glenn William Garland and Marie Garland. Our deepest sympathy is extended to Mrs. Garland, who survives, and to these four children.
Jesse Garland was the fourth son of John and Mahala Garland. His parents preceded him to the eternal home. He is survived by three brothers and three sisters. They are Charley C. Garland, Richard Garland, Preston Garland, Miss Alice Garland, Mrs. Mattie Bell and Mrs. Mary Hester.
Four or five years ago Mr. Garland united with Barker Chapel Methodist church, thus publicly confessing Christ as his personal Savior. At the time of his death he was a member of the church in Windsor.
The funeral services were held from the Windsor Methodist church Tuesday, Jan. 11th at 2:30 p.m., in charge of Rev. J. B. Swinney, the pastor, and burial was in Laurel Oak cemetery.
Creeping paralysis had afflicted him for several years, and he was a great sufferer. Now we believe he has been released from suffering and crowned with the joys of heaven.
