Elijah Combs Cornett was the first child of Robert Bustard Cornett and Louisa Combs Cornett. He married Cynthia Grigsby, daughter of John Grigsby and Martha Patsy Campbell on 1-14-1845 in Perry Co. They were the parents of the following known children:

Almost a Record Family.
E. C. Carnett of Hazard, Perry county, Kentucky, was born March 8, 1822, and was married to Miss Cynthia Grigsley, June 8, 1844. To them were born eleven children, six girls and five boys. These children are all living, and the father and mother are also living at the ripe ages of eighty-three and eighty-eight. The old pair have sixty-eight grandchildren and seventy-one great-grandchildren, which added to their eleven children, make a grand total of 153 souls in the four generations- Bud Morgan, in the Christian Herald.
