FIELDING STUBBLEFIELD, son of William Stubblefield and Elizabeth McDaniel, was born on Radkin River, Wilkes Co, NC in 1785. Research indicates that Fielding may have been married three times. He married (Elisabeth?) Baker of NC ca 1809.

Elisabeth, born in 1792 in NC, was the daughter of Elisha and Anne Rickman Baker of NC.

Fielding later married Elizabeth Rice ca 1812. Fielding was listed on the Lawrence Co, AR tax arolls in 1815-1816.

Eleven known children were born to these marriages.

Fielding later married Sarah A Huddleston on 7 Aug 1840 in Randolph Co, AR. Sarah was born in SC ca 1809. She died in 1856 and is buried in the Dalton Cemetery, Randolph Co, AR.

Four children were born to this marriage.

Fielding was living alone in Randolph Co, AR in 1860 with three of his daughters, Sally, Frances and Mary. Frances and Mary both died later that year.

Fielding was one of the larger land owners in the area. The 1860 census showed that he owned 2100 acres, 295 of which had been cultivated.

Fielding died on 16 Oct 1866 and is buried in Dalton Cemetery, along with three of his children, Frances, Mary and Acenith.

An interesting note here is that, according to cemetery records, Fielding and members of his family are the only persons buried in Dalton Cemetery, Randolph Co, AR.
