LEWISTON, Maine -- Mary Barbara Kennedy, 82, of North Turner, Maine, died July 11, 2009, at Montello Manor.
She was born Dec. 29, 1926, in Alexandria, Ind., to James and Mary Gladys (Quear) Kane.
She graduated from Alexandria High School.
In March 1944, she married Estel Eugene Ludlow, and they had five children. They divorced in 1965, and he survives in Homosassa, Fla.
She married George Kennedy on March 29, 1970, in LaGrange, Ind., and together they owned and operated the First Born Produce Farm in Howe, Ind., from 1974 to 1976. They moved to North Turner in 1976 and owned and operated This Ole Farm Market and greenhouse, where they worked together.
She was a member for 30 years of the Presbyterian Church of North Turner, where she served as deacon/elder.
Family includes her husband, George Kennedy; son, Richard Ludlow of Schneider, Ind.; daughters, Susan Kane of Lewiston, Nancy Baum of Auburn, Ind., and Mary Beth Maskow of Brighton, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, James Kane of Summitville, Ind.; and sister, Myra Mae Minnich of Bedford, Ind. She was predeceased by a son, Dana Kane Ludlow, on Aug. 1, 2003.
SERVICES: The funeral was Friday in North Turner United Presbyterian Church, Howes Corner Road, with Pastor Ann Marie Simone officiating.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are by Finley Funeral Home, 15 Church St., Livermore Falls, Maine.
