SWABE, CAROLYN McCAULLEY, age 68, of Madisonville, passed away 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Turkey Creek Medical Center. She was a member of Corntassel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a graduate of Hiwassee College and retired from ALCOA. She served on the Monroe County Farm Bureau Women's Committee and was a former advisor on the Monroe County Agriculture Committee. Carolyn was a passionate gardener and homemaker. She had a special "green thumb". She loved people, enjoyed life to the fullest and was very devoted to her family. Daughter of the late Robert Lee and Edna Belle Arden McCaulley. Survivors: husband of 43 years, Rod Swabe; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Todd Oaks, of Vonore; grandchildren, Samantha and Tyler Oaks;
several nieces and nephews. Graveside service and interment 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Haven Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial service 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Corntassel Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Rev. Bill Middleton, Rev. Gary Hartman, Rev. Carl Oaks officiating. Family will receive friends following the service at the church.
