She came to Oklahoma in 1893 with her 2nd Husband John Collins and step-son William for the Oklahoma land rush.
She and John ran a boarding house on Main Street in Ponca City. Ok.
A census taken in 1900 states that she was the mother of 12 children, 3 living. The census also states she had been married for 23 years. that she was born in Jan of 1836 and that at the time of the census she was 64
she died at the age of 73 years.
Mary's step-son William and her step-grandson Clyde were living with her at the time of the census. William was divorced from Clyde's mother 'Mahala'. After Mary's death Clyde went to live with his mother. and it may be that William had passed away as well. I can find no trace of him beyond the 1900 census
