ELVIN W. 'RUDY' BRUBAKER

WARREN – Elvin W. "Rudy" Brubaker, 85, entered into rest on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at 6:05 p.m., at St. Elizabeth's Health Center, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Elvin was born the son of the late Ord and Lista (Hoover) Brubaker on Feb. 25, 1925, in Duncansville, Pa., and had resided in Warren since 1949, moving here from Pennsylvania.

He had been employed as a carpenter with Republic Steel for 10 years and later with National Can Industries. He retired in 1991 from his duties in the maintenance department at Warren General Hospital. Elvin enjoyed playing country music with the Blue Sky Boys Band and had traveled with the band to such places as the Grand Ole Opry. Elvin had also served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army in the Pacific during World War II.

In 1949, Elvin was united into marriage with the former Mable A. Stevens, the mother of there children.

His memories will be remembered and cherished by his family, sons, Gary R. (Theresa) Brubaker of Mecca, Ohio and Denny W. (Karen) Brubaker of Canfield; daughter, Linda L. (Dutch) King of Melbourne, Fla.; brothers, Elwood Brubaker of Mineral Point, Pa., Regis Brubaker of Moore, Okla. and Clifford Brubaker of Richmond, Va.; sister, Nova Brubaker of Duncansville, Pa.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Brice Brubaker; and a sister, Rita Jane Brubaker.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at 7 p.m., at the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home in Warren, the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. David Robert Black.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, 962 North Road, NE, Warren, OH 44483.
