He was born August 9, 1953, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of Clystal and Hazel (Dennison) Miles. He worked at GM Powertrain for 38 years, retiring in 2004. He was a graduate of Continental High School and a member of UAW Local 211 Retirees and Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church, Junction, Ohio.
Surviving are two sons, Tom (Nikki) Miles of Defiance, Ohio, and Chris (Nancy) Miles, Defiance; three grandchildren, Taylor Bowling, Alexus and Keegan Miles; three brothers, Kim (Shelly) Miles of Blissfield, Mich., Bruce (Theresa) Miles of Defiance and Jack (Sandy) Miles, Defiance; and three sisters, Nina Andrews of Napoleon, Ohio, Wilma (Ray) Newsome of Oakwood, Ohio, and Crystal (Dennie) Branham, Holgate.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a granddaughter, Alyssa Miles; and a sister, Karren Miles, in infancy.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at Continental Missionary Baptist Church, Continental, Ohio, with Rev. Terry Brock officiating. Burial will be in Monroe Cemetery, Continental. Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, and one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.
