Eugene Wells, 101, of Whirlwind Road, Greeneville, died Sunday at his home.

He was a retired carpenter and farmer.

Mr. Wells was a member of Amity Presbyterian Church.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law: William "Billy" and Betty Wells, and a daughter and son-in-law: Betty and John Burley, all of Greeneville; his grandchildren: Diane Johnson of Greeneville and Tammie Price of Knoxville; his great-grandchildren: B.J. Ricker and Jonathan Ricker, both of Greeneville, and Emily Price, Maggie Price, and Lily Price, all of Knoxville; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was the son of the late W.O. and Elizabeth Wells and was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Holt Wells; an infant daughter; three brothers, Charles, John, and Merrill Wells; and three sisters: Lillian Wells, Alice Collins, and Emily Reed.

Family and friends will meet at 12:45 p.m.Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home to go in procession to GreeneLawn Memory Gardens for a 1 p.m. graveside service. The Rev. Yale Gunn will officiate.

The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military graveside service.

Pallbearers will be Drew Wells, Dwayne Wells, Joe Byrd, Fay Byrd, Jonathan Ricker, B.J. Ricker, Jim Holt, Bobby Wells and Hugh Wells.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Johnson, Joe Lane, Don Holt, and Herbert Waddell.

At Mr. Wells request, there will be no formal visitation
