Ada Saxey Mellor Whiting, age 90, died March 29, 1991 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was born on March 27, 1901, in Provo, Utah, a daughter of John and Mahalie McCauslin Saxey. She married Ralph Lee Mellor on October 30, 1924 in the Salt Lake L.D.S Temple. He preceded her death on November 27, 1932. On May 16, 1937, she married Vernon Whiting. She was an active member of the L.D.S. Church, serving in the Sunday School, Relief Society and in the Stake Presidency of the M.I.A. Her entire life centered around her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Salt Lake City, Utah; one son and two daughters, John R. Whiting, Mrs. Chris (Peggy) Hill, Ann Whiting Timothy, all of Salt Lake City; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; she was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 1991 at 11:00 a.m. at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, Provo. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center on Monday evening 6-8 p.m. or on Tuesday one hour prior to services. Interment Provo City Cemetery.

DISCREPANCY: Many public family trees have Ada's middle name listed as Berniece. In my research, I was not able to find a single primary or secondary source to prove that. If you have a primary source, I'm happy to consider it.
