GIDEON ABBE married 3rd in Mansfield, March, 1747, BATHSHEBA SMITH, daughter of William Smith of Ashford, Conn. She survived him and was living in Mansfield in 1790, one male over 16, one female in family.

Gideon and Bathsheba had 10 children:
1 - John Abbe b Mar 8, 1747-8 married Dorothy Bugbee
2 - Samuel Abbe b Oct 2, 1749 died young
3 - Bathsheba Abbe b Feb 22, 1750-1, probably died young
4 - Elijah Abbe b 7 Jul 1753 in Ashford married Ruth Baleb
5 - Samuel Abbe b Jan 7, 1755 married Miriam Hall
6 - Nathan Abbe b Nov 21, 1756
7 - William Abbe b Apr 14, 1758 married Lydia Hall
8 - Jerusha Abbe b Jan 3, 1761 married Ephraim Hall, Jr
9 - Eunice Abbe b May 12, 1765
and
10 - Ezra Abbe bapt in Windham, May 10, 1767 (named in his father's will as infirm and unable to take care of himself.)
