She graduated from Elyria Catholic High School and worked at Berlin School Cafeteria, retiring in 1999, She was a member at St Peter's Church in Huron, the Berlin Echoes, and the American Legion Auxiliary #659. She volunteered at Stein Hospice and served on Berlin Heights Village Council for 12 years and hosted International Students.
She loved planting flowers, sewing, quilting, and cleaning. Ellen was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years Dick, a daughter, Debra (Andrew) Kramb of Waynesville Oh, a son, Steven (Allison) Mittendorf of Bluffton Oh, her grandchildren, John, Jacob, Rachael and Rebecca Kramb, and Thaddeus and Reagan Mittendorf, two sisters Dolores Gatliff and Bona Betz, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clem and Sadie (Dimmerling) Archer, brothers Vern and Paul Archer
Friends may call on Friday, January 20, from 2:00 to 8:00 pm at the Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South Street, Berlin Heights. On Saturday January 21, there will be visitation at St. Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main Street, Huron from 10:00 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am. Father Ron Brickner will be officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
