Joyce Mae Heist, 80, died Friday, June 1, 2012 at Roman Eagle Memorial Home, Danville, VA. Born on October 3, 1931, in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late George E. and Catherine S. Beltz. She lived most of her life in Zionsville until moving to Danville in 1995. Joyce married the late Bright N. Heist on May 11, 1950. Joyce was a longtime member of Zionsville Bible Fellowship Church and later of the Tabernacle in Danville, VA. She supported her family and community throughout her life and served in many capacities on various committees of the church and in the school system. She was very interested in genealogy and was an active member of her local chapter of the Daughters of the American Colonists and other historical societies. Survivors: Sons, Douglas R. Heist and his wife Jennifer of Owings Mills, MD and Dwight L. Heist and his wife Cynthia of Danville, VA.; two grandchildren Christopher Heist and his wife Jessica of Lynchburg, VA. and Chelsea Sheetz and her husband Jason of Blairs, VA. Survivors also include her sister, Lucille Walbert of Alburtis, PA. Services: 10 a.m., Monday, Zionsville Bible Fellowship Church, 6401 Vera Cruz Rd. S., Zionsville, PA. Calling hours Sunday, 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus and 9:30 to 10 a.m., Monday in the church. Interment in the church cemetery.
