She was born August 14, 1903 in Georgetown, Idaho to James and Eva Orth Hoff Dunn. She, with her family, moved to Paris, Idaho when she was 11 years old. Married Ned L. Clayton in Paris, Idaho. They moved to Magna, Utah in 1922, to Garfield, Utah in 1925, and back to Magna in 1944 where they lived until they moved to Salt Lake City in 1976. Ned passed away in 1987. Lillis was active in the L.D.S. Church as a Sunday School teacher and Young Women M.I.A. teacher. She and Ned were workers in the Salt Lake Temple for a number of years. She worked in the Magna J.C. Penney store during World War II.

She is survived by her sons, Ned J. (June), of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Lynn T., of Salt Lake City; four grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two sisters; and two sisters-in-law. Preceded in death by her husband, four sisters, and two brothers.
