Vergil S. Beard died Wednesday, March 24, 1993, at his residence in Baton Rouge. He was a native of Bordelonville. He was a retired Copolymer Rubber & Chemical Co. instrument technician. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Frances J. and Jimmie Brumfield; and a grandson, Randy J. Brumfield. Preceded in death by wife, Katherine J. "Nita" Beard; parents, Sidney and Gertrude Beard; and a brother, Edward Beard. Pallbearers will be Jimmie Brumfield, Larry Terrell, Cotton McCallum, Paul Neusetzer, Willie Neusetzer and Wilson Beard. Honorary pallbearers are Scott Beard, Pat Beard, Ted Strickland and L.J. Chapman. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church Building Fund or Hospice Foundation of Baton Rouge.
