Elwood "Woody" Curtsinger age 79 of Herrin, formery of Decatur, died Tuesday January 15, 2002.

Funeral services to be held Saturday with Rev. Todd Hawk officiating. Visitation Saturday, 10:30 a.m. in the Riggin-Pillatsch Funeral Home, Carterville. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Carterville with military graveside rites.

Mr. Curtsinger was born Sept. 18, 1922, in Danville, Ky., the son of Thomas and Christine Lewis Curtsinger. He owned and operated Decatur Alterations for many years. He served his county in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries received in battle.

He was married to Odema Huff and then married Elizabeth Ann Holden, 26 August 1970 in Louisville, Kentucky.

He is survied by his wife, Elizabeth; daughters Veronica Lynn Curtsinger; Karen Mulder; step-daughter Lee Ann Norman; sons Elwood Curtsinger, Jr.; Kenneth D. Curtsinger; Daniel L. Curtsinger; stepson James Oliver, Jr.; sister Veda Pearl Ervin; half-brother Lloyd Curtsinger; 24 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
