Edward was the eldest son of Charles and Bettie Henderson Williamson, and was my maternal great-uncle. He and his brothers helped their father on the family farm and they also ran a corn mill in the Gum Log (GA) community. According to his death certificate, Edward was married to Alice Birch, daughter of Jim Birch of Murphy, NC. The marriage license was applied for in Murphy, Cherokee County, North Carolina on November 5, 1923.

Known as "Edd" in the family, he died from tuberculosis at the young age of 35 on May 15, 1925. His wife, parents, and six siblings survived him. He is buried in the Henderson Cemetery near the graves of his parents.
