Mahoney, Edith O.
MADISON - Edith O. Mahoney,
age 84, passed away on Saturday,
Jan. 10, 2004, at Nazareth House.
She was born on Nov. 11, 1919,
in Dodgeville, the daughter of
Harry and Bena (Sanger) Mclntosh.
Edith was united in marriage
to Dean Mahoney on Nov.
29, 1940, in Dubuque, Iowa. She
worked for Oscar Mayer for 36
years, retiring in 1980. Edith enjoyed
fishing, boating, doing
crafts, snowmobiling, playing
cards -and traveling. She loved to
entertain friends and family at
their retirement home in Minocqua.
Edith will be remembered
for her great sense of humor and
her zest for life. She took great
pride in her family. Edith is survived
by her daughter and sonin-
law, Deanna and Dennis Gervasi
of McFarland; three grandsons,
Dean, David and Dale, all of
Madison; a beloved great-granddaughter,
Mackensey; two sisters,
Ruth Moore of Lancaster, and
Joyce Brandes of Boscobel; and
many nieces and nephews. She
was preceded in death by her
husband, Dean; her parents; and
. brothers, Milo, Kenneth, Vernon
"Bud" and Glenn. Funeral services
will be held at FITCHBURG
MEMORIAL UNITED CHURCH
OF CHRIST, 5705 Lacy Road,
Fitchburg, at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday,
Jan. 13, 2004, with the Rev.
Bonnie Van Overbeke presiding.
Visitation will be at the church
from 10:30 a.m. until the time of
the services. Entombment will be
in Roselawn Memorial Park. In
lieu of flowers, memorials may
be made to Nazareth House,
Stoughton or Fitchburg Memorial
United Church of Christ. A special
