Mary Benway
Strawn- Mrs. Mary K. Benway, 74 formerly of Strawn,
died at 5:25 p.m. Tuesday at Greenbrier Lodge , Piper City,
She had been a resident of the lodge two years.
Her funeral will be at 10:00 a. m. Friday at St. Rose
Catholic Church , with the Rev. Raymond Lukoskie officiating.
Burial will be at St. Rose Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and from 7 to 9 p.m Thursday,
at the Caulken Funeral Home, Forrest. The rosary will be
recited at 8 p.m.
She was born Dec 21, 1900 in Chatsworth Twp, a daughter
of John and Regina (Walsh) Kemmer. She married William J.
Benway , April 12, 1921 at Chatsworth, He died Oct 26, 1949.
Surviving are two sons, James and Robert both of Strawn :
two daughters Mrs. Mary Jean Krieghauser, Pontiac, and
Mrs Donna Sledge, Strawn. 12 grandchildren and great grandchild.
Three sons, a grandson, four brothers and three sisters preceded
her in death.
She was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church
