He was born on March 20, 1911, in Nowata, Okla., the son of William Robert and Eva Dell (Cherry) Hendren.
He attended schools in the Nowata area. After his schooling, he farmed in the area until 1930 when he moved to the Yakima Valley. He married his wife, Bertha, on Jan. 31, 1934, in Yakima. They moved to Harrah in 1943 where he continued to farm the land.
He is surevived by his five sons, Ralph and his wife, Marion Hendren of Cottage Grove, Ore., Thomas and his wife, Melva Hendren of Yakima, Lee and his wife Glenda Hendren of Kennewick, Rowland Hendren of Yakima and Pat Hendren of Monroe; five sisters, Cecile and husband, Kehn of Yakima, Jewel Earl and Ethel Shinaburger both of Olympia, Alta and husband, Eddy Walters of Oregan City, Ore., and Louise Hendren of Dumas, Calif.,; ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Bertha, six sisters and two brothers.
funeral services were Friday, Jul 2, in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel in Toppenish. Concluding services and burial were in the Reservation Community Memorial Park in Wapato.
