Marie Julie Azélie Papineau, daughter of Louis-Joseph Papineau and Julie Bruneau, was born and baptized on September 1, 1834 at Basilique-Notre-Dame-de-Montréal. She married Napoléon Bourassa on September 17, 1857 at Montebello. After her death on March 27, 1869 at age 34, she was buried not once, but three times. Her first burial record for March 31, 1869 is found with those for the Basilique-Notre-Dame-de-Montréal. She was then exhumed and interred at Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours in Montebello on May 3, 1869. On November 5, 1897, her remains and those of three other female relatives were exhumed and reburied in a different section of the cemetery, the Napoléon Bourassa family plot.
