William Anastasia, operator of Anastasia's garage, 66 Fourth Ave, died yesterday morning at Monmouth Memorial hospital. Mr. Anastasia, who was 46, had been ill for the past 2 1/2 months. He lived at Monmouth Road and Summers Ave., West Long Branch.

He was born here, the son of Peter and Rose Perri Anastasia of Hillside Ave. He attended local schools. A mechanic, he previously had served as an instructor at the Crucible Steel works in Essex County. He was employed at various installations of the company during World War II and won governmental recognition for his service.

Mr. Anastasia had lived for a period in Newark where he was employed by the fire department.

He was a member of the local aerie of Eagles; Giordano Bruno lodge Order Sons of Italy; an honorary member of the Long Branch first aid squad and the Atlantic Engine company; and a communicant of Holy Trinity Church.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rose Mancini Anastasia; four brothers, Amerigo A. Frank, Peter Jr., and Victor, all of Long Branch; and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Dorsett, Asbury Park, and Miss Rose Anastasia and Miss Ann Anastasia, Long Branch.

Services are in charge of the Damiano Funeral Home. Funeral from the Damiano Funeral Home, Tuesday at 8 a.m. Solemn High Mass of Requiem from Holy Trinity Church at 9 a.m. Interment Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
