A. J. Yarborough, age 87, went home to be with his Lord Saturday, June 20, 2009, at his residence in Odessa.

He was born Nov. 28, 1921, to Charles Wesley and Lora Yarborough in Voca, Texas. He was married to Rutha Bell [Dubose], who preceded him in death in 2001.

He was a retired construction worker for S.L. Briley Construction Co.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Homer and Alvis Yarborough; and sisters, Dorothy Enloe and Murtilue Morrison.

His memory will be cherished by his son, Wesley Yarborough and wife Rosemary of Odessa; daughters, Patty Kincheloe and husband Mike of Odessa, Margaret Chesnut and husband Roger of Blanco, Texas, and Joyce Cooper and husband Larry of Joelton, Tenn.; sister, Helen Marshall and husband Ben of Red Oak, Texas; and eight grandchildren, Holly and Chris Kincheloe, Misty Preslar, Carrie Davis, Wesley Yarborough Jr., Charles Yarborough, Jinnie Yarborough, Lawrence Cooper; and six great-grandchildren, Hannah, Taylor, Trison, Brianna, Brooklyngrace, Cayden; and six nieces and nephews and many friends.

You are dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all. You were a blessing to all that knew you.

Visitation will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating.
