Aurora Goena Kountz passed away peacefully at her home in Ventura, CA. on Thursday, January 26, 2012.

Aurora was born in Carpentaria, Ca. on October 6, 1925 to Jose and Ascencion Goena. Growing up in a small town with four brothers and four sisters was filled with carefree days at the beach, going to the movies and fun times. Life was good! After meeting Eugene Kountz during the Korean War at a USO dance, they married and settled in Ventura where they raised their five children. She was involved in the PTA and also was a charter member and president of Ventura Boys Club. Many happy times were spent with her large, loving, extended family. Aurora loved to garden and read. Most of all , she loved her grandchildren! Grandma was always there to help out when needed. She was a very strong and caring person. She will be greatly missed

Aurora is survived by her sons Kenneth (Joyce), Robert (Rose), daughter Kassandra (Merrit), daughter-in-law Liz, sister Virginia, brothers Luis and Raymond, 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. In Heaven, she will greeted with loving and open arms by Eugene and sons Raymond and Gregory. You may have left this earth but you will never leave our hearts.

Graveside services will be held on Friday Feb. 3 at 11 a.m. at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.

Arrangements are under the direction of Reardon Funeral Home, Ventura.
