Mr. Jack Morgan was a man of many talents and trades, which makes it virtually impossible to list all of them. After moving to Thomaston in 1922, Mr. Morgan worked at Stephens Automobile Company for 30 years before taking the position of Supervisor of Building Maintenance for the Thomaston School System where he worked for 21 1/2 years and where he was involved with many activities. Most notably to the Thomaston Upson Archives, Mr. Morgan was a devoted genealogist and donated over 500 family genealogies to the Upson Historical Society, where in turn they have been given to the Thomaston Upson Archives. Furthermore, Mr. Morgan was responsible for the vast amount of information in The Cemeteries of Upson County Georgia publication, which much of it has been placed on findagrave and without that book many memorials to date would not have been placed. Daily the staff of the Thomaston Upson Archives utilizes material Mr. Morgan donated and we are eternally grateful. As a result of the above, the week of April 20 has been proclaimed Jack Morgan week in Thomaston Georgia.
