Martha DeCormis Dillon, born April 24, 1924, in Plymouth, N.C., died Jan. 1, 2012, at Desert Regional Medical Center, Palm Springs, Calif.

Mrs. Dillon was married for 45 years to John P. Dillon, Maj., U. S. Army Retired, until his death April 25, 1993. Martha is survived by her children: John P. Dillon, Jr. of Cathedral City, Calif., Larry Dillon of Myers Flats, Calif., Kathleen Dillon of Redway, Calif., Bob Dillon and wife, Tracy of Thousand Oaks, and seven grandchildren. Mrs. Dillon was preceded in death by her youngest and most beloved son, Ed Dillon of Stuart, Fla.

A military wife, Mrs. Dillon saw to the needs of her husband and children throughout many years of reassignment and travel. Following his retirement, John and Martha settled in Sierra Vista, Ariz. After his death and in her advancing years Mrs. Dillon moved into the home of her eldest son, John, in Cathedral City, Calif.

Martha deeply loved and is cherished by her family. She made every opportunity to be part of their lives and was attentive to each. She loved to read and was especially fond of Bingo and the fellowship it provided.

A memorial mass will be held for Mrs. Dillon at Our Lady of the Mountain Parish, Sierra Vista, Ariz. Mrs. Dillon will be buried next to her husband at the Post Cemetery, Fort Huachuca, Ariz.
