Leila died of a heart attack while nine months pregnant and a broken leg from falling earlier in the pregnancy.

Mrs. Ole Turnbull, age 37, died unexpectedly early Friday morning, February 19, 1954, at her farm home north of Junction City, Kansas.
Mrs. Turnbull became ill suddenly and died a short time later of a heart attack. She was born January 15, 1917 at Woodbine, she graduated from the Woodbine High School in 1935 and married Mr. Turnbull September 5, 1937. She was the mother of four children.
Mr. and Mrs. Turnbull lived at Woodbine and Chapman until they established their present home. She was a member of the Methodist Church at Junction City and and of the Pleasant View HDU.
Mrs. Turnbull is survived by her husband and four children, Linda, Willard, Edith, and Clifford.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb 22, at 2 pm at the Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Clair Hester in charge of services. Burial was at the Highland Cemetery in Junction City.
Mrs. Turnbull also leaves her mother Mrs. Matilda Kufalk of Junction City and Mrs. Sturgeon Fitzgerald of Woodbine and many other relatives.
Her funeral was largely attended with the following among those in attendance: Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hellmann and Nora, Mr. and Mrs. P.R. Diepenbrock, Harold and Elinor, Mrs. Fred Haage, R.V. Diepenbrock, Mr. and Mrs. L.F. Kroening and Walter, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Diepenbrock, Mrs. Albert Sandels, Mrs. Bertha Reick, Mrs. Ida Wendlandt all from Herington; Mrs. Mary Diepenbrock of Council Grove, Mrs. Melvin Gruber, Mrs. Charles Dittman and children all of Hope, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Herpich of White City and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schrader of Latimer.
