Abigail was the first born child to William and Harriet L (Hersey) Bennett of Greenwood. Clearly, Abigail was named for her paternal grandmother Abigail (Morgan) Bennett., wife of Francis Bennett Jr of Greenwood, Maine.

Abigail married Thomas Moore an immigrant from Quebec City, Canada in 1852 in Greenwood, Oxford, Maine, USA. Thomas became a naturalization citizen on 19 Aug 1856. Abigail along with her grandfather Francis Bennett Jr were the witnesses for her husband Thomas at his naturalization ceremony in Portland, Maine, USA.


It appears by the 1860 census they had four children named: William L b. 1854; Charles W b. 1856; Thomas H b. 1858 and Abigail T b. 1860.

Abigail remained a widow after the death of her husband in 1874. She died of
Scrofula; form of Tuberculosis that affected the Lymph node system. Often caused by infected cow milk re: un-pasteurized.

Abigail worked in the Lewiston Mills until her death in 1895. She was bought back to Greenwood City (Martin) Cemetery to be buried beside her husband Thomas and many other family members including her parents, paternal grandparents, some sibling and many cousins.
