Revolutionary War Continental Army Brevet Brigadier General. He served during the Revolutionary War as Colonel and commander of the 3rd Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment during the Revolutionary War, leading it from August 1, 1777 to January 1, 1783. Later in 1783, when victory for the United States was secure, he was given the brevet of Brigadier General. He was later a judge in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
