"TAFT, Kern Co. -- William Green Harris, 78, a resident on the West Side for 44 years and widely known sportsman, who died Friday in his home, 424 Kern Street, were held here. Harris was born in Gallatin, Tenn. He retired after being a partner in the Harris & Curtis hardware store. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mary Christner; a brother, Albert B. Harris, Louisville, Ky.; five sisters, Mary W. Harris, Mrs. A. R. Jack and Marguerite Hancock, all of Fresno; Mrs. McKee Mhoon, Piedmont, and Tudor B. Carre, New Orleans, La., and other relatives. The Rev. Max E. Greenlee officiated at the funeral. Internment was in the West Side Cemetery."
