Floy "Sis" Wells was a daughter of Levi Marion Wells and Rosa Barbara Kern. Floy had a twin brother, Charles. She married Charles Seifert Irwin on 1 November 1911, and they had three children: Arthur August, Cloyde Ernest, and Lela Mae.
