Professional Hockey Player. At 5'09", and 175lbs, Provost a Montreal, Quebec, native played for teams in the Quebec Junior Hockey League (QJHL), Quebec Hockey League (QHL), and the National Hockey League (NHL). Provost played the position of Right Wing for the Montreal Nationale from 1951 to 1952, Montreal Jr. Canadiens from 1952 to 1954, Shawinigan Falls Cataracts from 1954 to 1956, Montreal Canadiens from 1955 to 1970, and the Rosemount Nationale from 1970 to 1971. He was the recipient of the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy for 1967 to 1968. After retiring from hockey, Provost moved to Miami, Florida, where he ran a hotel. He died at his home there of a heart attack on April 17, 1984, at the age of 50, while playing tennis.
