Milledgeville – Mrs. John Mertz collapsed en route to see a physician Saturday and died a short time later after being admitted to a Savanna hospital. Death was attributed to a heart attack.

The former Pearl Wagner was born Aug. 16, 1891 west of Coleta, daughter of John and Mary Wagner. She married John Mertz Jan. 10, 1912. He died in 1949.

Survivors include two sons, John and Harold, both of Milledgeville; a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Franks, Milledgeville; two sisters, Mrs. Walter Estabrooks, Milledgeville, and Mrs. Roscoe Fellows, Round Grove; four brothers, John, Chadwick, Harvey, Sterling, and William and Floyd, both of Milledgeville and three grandchildren.

Service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Woodin Funeral Home with Rev. J. Frank Eshbaugh, pastor of West Jordan Lutheran Church officiating.

Burial will be in West Genesee Central Cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
