Mrs. Emma W. Butler, 99, of Star, died early Sunday morning in St. Dominic's Hospital after a lengthy illness. A native and lifelong resident of Rankin County she was a daughter of the late Frank and Laura Laird Walker. She was the widow of W. J. Butler who died in 1930 and she was a member of the Mountain Creek Baptist Church of Rankin County.
Services will be conducted with a prayer service at Baldwin Funeral Home, Manship St., at 3 p.m. Monday and graveside services at 3:30 p.m. in Wesleyanna Cemetery at Star. Rev. A. J. Pace and Rev. Vance Dyess will officiate.
She is survived by two sons, R. W. Butler, Star, Burton Butler, Jackson; one brother, Howard Butler, Star; two sisters, Mrs. Maude Webb and Mrs. Henry Atherton both of Jackson; a grandson, Burton Butler, Jr., Fort Walton, Fla., and two great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be W. E. Loflin, Jr., P. P. Loflin, Lynn Webb, Ralph Crawley, Glen Harrison and Frank Barnett."
