He had been a member of the First Baptist Church, for over 50 years where he served on various committees, deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a retiree of Coca-Cola with 39 years of employment. He also worked after his retirement at the Pulaski Wal-Mart for 7 years until his health would not allow him to work. He served in the United States Navy (1942-1945) during WWII aboard the "U.S.S. Nashville". He was very proud of this time that he served our country and of having met and transported General Douglas MacArthur.
