Martinsville, Ill. - Jesse J. Maxey, 87, of rural Martinsville died at 9:26 a.m. Wednesday [Dec.16,1987] in Jarmin Hospital at Tuscola. He was a retired carpenter. He was born Feb. 7, 1900, in Missouri to George William Maxey and Mary Alice Maxey. Survivors include his wife, Flora Biggs Maxey; two daughters, Naoma Clapp of Westfield and Esther Tingley of Casey; three sons, George of Olney, LeRoy "Bud" of Martinsville and Victor of Casey; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was a member of Willis Chapel Church near Casey. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday in Markwell Funeral Home at Casey. Burial is in Washington Street Cemetery at Casey. Visitation is after 4 p.m. today.
