Gordon Leo "Sonny" Robbins was the son of George James Robbins & Marguerite Pauth. He married Adelaide Dukelow and they had 1 daughter Carol. Sonny served during the Korean War in the U.S. Air Corp.

When Sonny was a little boy he thought the 4th of July fireworks and revelry was in honor of his birthday.

GORDON L. ROBBINS

A military service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Eaton Funeral Home for Gordon L. Robbins, 30, of 78 Borden Avenue wo died on Friday, November 13, 1964 in the Buffalo Veterans Hospital.

Rev. A Walker Hepler of Derby, former pastor of the Brick Presbyterian Church in Perry, officiated. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Robbinson [sic, Robbins] has been hospitalized since October 7. He came to Perry eight years ago following discharge from the U.S. Air Force. He served in Korea.

Mr. Robbins was cutting department foreman in the Geneseo plan of Champion Knitwear Co. He was a member of McKelton Post, American Legion, and the Warsaw Moose Lodge.

He was born July 4, 1934, in Norwich, a son of George and Margaret Pauth Robbins.

Surviving are his widow, the former Adelaide Dukelow; a daughter Carol Marie at home; 2 step daughters Beverly Ann Farley and Charlene N. Stevens of Perry; his parents who live in Perry; three sisters, Mrs. Charles Palmer, Mrs. Stanley Dawson and Mrs. William Fuller, all of Antioch, Calif.; three brothers Robert of Utica, George of Buffalo and Edward of Cohoes; and neices and nephews.

There is a discrepancy regarding Sonny's date of death between 3 sources...the 1964 funeral home records and his obituary indicates Nov. 13th, The information from the cemetery and his military marker is inscribed Nov. 12th.
