Thomas married first, on June 3, 1816, at St. James Church Gawsworth, Cheshire by Rev. James Crabtree, Mary Kelley 1800-1830, by whom he had seven children. She was the dau. of Benjamin Kelley 1759-1844, & Mary Sharpley b.1778-died after 1809. Secondly Thomas married about 1831, Sarah Thorneley b.1815-died after 1855, by whom he had eleven children.
Thomas was a silk weaver during his working life. In 1870, he traveled to New Jersey in the U.S. with his sons Edmund and Edwin and daughter Rosabella and their families. He returned to England within a year or two and died in Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire.
