Cemetery notes and/or description:
The Salzburger markers are on private land at the site of Old Ebenezer (town) while the supposed site of the Cemetery is about 3/4 mile from the Salzberger markers...It is located in a large grove of trees and has rows of sunken spots that appear to be graves; the land owner has driven down stakes at the head of each grave, some 100 or more...Almost everyone who settled at Old Ebenezer died within two years after arrival, due to malaria and other sicknesses, such as childbed fever...the location was not good for landing supplies either, so the settlement moved south to the site of New Ebenezer...
The cemetery at New Ebenezer is very large and surrounded by a fence...
