JOSEPH PUCKETT DEAD
Joseph Puckett, one of Winchester’s oldest and most highly respected citizens passed away at 12:25 last Sunday, at the home of his son Carl, on south East street. At his death, Mr. Puckett was in his seventy seventh year nearly all of his life being spent in or near this city. Many weeks ago he was seriously attacked with throat trouble, from which he had long been a sufferer, and all medical skill seemed powerless to check it. He was an amiable, highly respected and cultured citizen and leaves many relatives to mourn his death.

During his lifetime, he held many positions of trust, and was for years cashier of the old First National Bank, of this city, but for many years has lived a quiet and retired life. Brief funeral services were held at his late residence Tuesday afternoon after which his remains were interred in Fountain Park Cemetery.
