James G. DeFee and Ola DeFee nee Mathis. Both of her parents died young and Lois was raised by her Aunt, Mattie Maude Farley nee DeFee, a sister of her father's.
She left home at an early age and became an actress in Burlesque in the 1930's, 40's and early 50's...Lois became famous and was well known for her beauty...She was featured in a published book, "That was Burlesque". Later in 2005, a feature on HBO had a film titled,
"Pretty Things"...Lois was also featured in it as well as other famous Beauty Queens of Burlesque.
Note: My Mother, Ruth Sweeney Mathews nee DeFee was a 1st cousin to Lois.
