There appear to be some differing thoughts as to Pinkney Green's full name. I had been told some time back that his name was "Pinkney Thurman Green". However, when his death certificate was located, it stated his name as William Pinkney Green. I have just recently been given additional information that his name was Pinkney Thelman Green which is very close to the original information we had and that his father's name was William Green (which might explain the information provided for the death certificate).

Pinkney Green served in Company D, Thomas Legion of the NC Infantry during the Civil War. His pension request states his Colonel was William Thomas and his Major was W. L. Green who was also his father. When his wife (Lettie) applied for the Widow's Pension she listed date of death as 4 Dec 1921 however his death certificate shows 27 Nov 1921.
