MARION - Mr. James Everette "Jim" Stevens, 67, husband of Alanda Ammons Stevens, died Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Marion Regional Hospital after an illness.

Mr. Stevens was born November 28, 1944 in Greenville, S.C., a son of the late Claude Collins Stevens and the late Gladys Clamp Stevens.

He was a real estate broker and installer of information systems for banks and industries. Mr. Stevens was a Guardian-ad-lidem for Dillon County. He was a Gideon and a member of the Men's Prayer Breakfast Club in Marion. Mr. Stevens was a member of Little Bethel Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon and a Sunday School teacher.

Surviving Mr. Stevens in addition to his wife of the home are: his Children: Kimberly Stevens Teague and her fiance‚ Don Deans of Charlotte, N.C., Janet Steele Foil and her husband Drew of Mullins and Mark Stephen Steele and his wife Renea of Florence; his Grandchildren: William Teague, III, James Stevens Teague and Lauren Kimberlin Teague, all of Charlotte, N.C., Brittany Foil Shelley and her husband Blake, Lindsay Foil and Tucker Foil, all of Mullins, Tarah Bailey of Virginia and Stephen Steele, Timothy Steele and Christopher Steele, all of Florence; 2 Great Grandchildren: Ashton Hooks and Keely Shelley, both of Mullins; a Sister-in-Law: Sharon Stevens of Greenville, S.C.; and a Special Cousin: Jean and Everette Foster of Cornelius, N.C.

Mr. Stevens was predeceased by a brother, Samuel Claude Stevens.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 17, at Little Bethel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mike Watkins and the Rev. Doug Hooks officiating. Burial will follow in Little Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, directed by Smith-Collins Funeral Home of Marion.
