Services for Thomas LeRoy Bennett, 59, Goleta, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Welch-Ryce-Haider Mortuary, Goleta. Burial will be in Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
Mr. Bennett died Thursday in a Goleta hospital after a short illness. He was born March 27, 1925 in Fillmore, and had lived in Ventura County for 45 years before moving to Goleta. He was a graduate of Nordhoff High School, Ojai.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He attended Ventura College after serving in the war. He was a supervisor for Southern California Gas Company, where he had been employed for 38 years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Goleta.
He is survived by wife Bonnie; daughters Christine A. of Goleta, Constance D. Aikens of Oak View; mother Myrtle I. of Ojai; brother Gillis D. of Granada Hills; sisters Norma Lee Sheely of Long Beach and Martha Siebler of Lancaster; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call from noon until 8 p.m. Sunday at the Welch-Ryce-Haider Mortuary, Goleta.
