Daniel was born in Texas and later his family moved to Fremont, CA. He was living with his brother in Union City, when he enlisted in the US Marines.
Upon arriving in Vietnam 6 August 1968, he was assigned to Mike Company, 3rd Battalion,
4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division. Daniel died as a result of hostile small arms fire during combat action.
He was single and was KIA #20,621.
Funeral services were held at Fremont Chapel of The Roses Mortuary, 1940 Peralia, Fremont, California.
Survived by his parents, David and Margarita Escobedo; one sister, Angie Rodriguez of Union City and two brothers; David Jr of Union City, and Jerry, of Fremont.
