“Mrs. Jennie Clayton, 82, of Hope Chapel, Lakewood, died suddenly Friday, March 12, at her home there. She was the widow of Elsworth Clayton, and was born near Asbury Park, the daughter of the late Jonathan T and Catherine Curtis Clayton. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Raymond Pettit, Lakewood; a son, Harry C Clayton, Hope Chapel; six grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Nellie Pittenger, Adelphia; and a brother, Frank Clayton, Hope Chapel. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 PM from the CHT Clayton and Son Funeral Home, Adelphia, the Rev. Albert H Manus, pastor of the Hope Presbyterian Church, officiated. Interment followed in Harmony Cemetery”.
