Capt. John Kilbourn, from Litchfield, CT, moved to Adams, MA about 1768. Later in 1797 moved to Plainfield, Otsego Co., NY. John was in the American Revolution in 1777 and marched to Ticonderoga, Sgt. in Capt. Parker's Company. He married in 1765 to Anna Smith and was father of 9 children.
