Robert Cline
86, Leavenworth
Robert "Bob" Cline, 86, of Leavenworth, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at Saint John Hospital. He was born Dec. 24, 1925, in Bethel, Ky., the son of Walter and Susan (Jones) Cline.
On March 24, 1945, he married Kathryn E. Roberts in Lansing, Kan. She survives at the home. He is also survived by his children, Sandra K. Wiehe of Tonganoxie, Robert "Bob" D. Cline of Basehor, Linda S. (Ron) Harrod of Leavenworth, Paula E. (Steve) Forge of Lansing, Ronald E. Cline of Leavenworth and Sharon L. Cline of Prairie Village, Kan.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; his sister, Lila Ruth (Larry) Struble; a sister-in-law, Wilda Cline; a brother-in-law, Jim (Janet) Roberts; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two children, Barbara Ann Cline and an infant son, Kenneth Cline; his parents; four brothers, Floyd Cline, Ray Cline, Walter "Pete" Cline and Omar Cline; and five sisters, Bessie Northern, Opal Welch, Rose Pennington, Annabelle "Annie" Chartier and an infant, Betty Cline.
Bob served in the U.S. Army in the infantry during World War II. He was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed blue grass music and could play several musical interments. Bob loved spending time with his family. He retired from the Lansing Correctional Facility with 30 years of service.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mount Muncie Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Prestige Home Care of Kansas or the American Red Cross.
